'CHAPTERS' showcases Lola Kristine's singer-songwriter style, weaving in elements of Americana, Retro-Soul, and Indie-Pop.
“I was unconsciously addicted to love and totally codependent until enough painful breakups caused me to wake up. The album is a look inside my heart and head - getting swept off my feet, losing love, learning how to forgive and grow, loving again but with a new sense of independence and ultimately crossing the shore to freedom. Going from a starved child to a woman who feels whole and complete.”

An inside look at each of the Chapters:
Chapter 1: Rose-Colored Glasses: This heroine’s journey begins with Lola looking for her holy grail in the form of a romantic partner. Dependent on the magical feeling of falling in love, “California Cowboy” sings about trying to find home and stability in a partnership. “You and Me” paints Lola’s desire to have the simplicity of a fairytale-like romance to fulfill her.
Chapter 2: When Things Fall Apart: The dream of happily-ever-after starts to fall apart in Chapter Two. Beginning with denial in “Just Friends”, then turning to grasping and grieving in “Sheets” as the comfort slips away. This chapter closes out with the epic “Wish You Love,” a reflection on forgiveness. Lola sings of allowing the fire of pain refine us in order to truly heal and love again.
Chapter 3: Into the Woods: Left alone, Lola is forced to face her inner demons: guilt, shame, and other hidden shadows she was able to distract herself away from with romance. “Find Me in the Wilderness” dives deep into her wild feminine soul, where she reclaims the lost child within as she embodies the fierce mother wolf. The lioness is unleashed in “Living for Myself,” a bluesy rock anthem about finding your inner power, standing up for yourself, female empowerment and embracing your uniqueness.
Chapter 4: A New Dance: As a woman who knows her worth and her desires, Lola now enters into the dating world with a different perspective. She’s no longer looking for a prince charming to save her, but a partner who respects and cherishes every aspect of her. This chapter bursts with the joy of Lola finding that love. Beginning with “Brighter,” Lola reflects on this new kind of relationship in lyrics such a:"You’re not like the others. You’re kind like my father. You treat me like a queen. You’ll be my reminder that life can be brighter..." The groovy Motown feel of “So Easy” perfectly depicts the ecstatic lightness of an uncomplicated romance. Feeling the bliss of her wild feminine nature being safely held by a steady masculine force, Lola sings of the beauty of this yin-yang match and dreams for the future in “Gypsy Soul.”
Chapter 5: Parasamgate: We all learn lessons throughout our lives in different ways. For Lola, romantic relationships have been the biggest catalyst for her spiritual growth. Her journey through romance and heartbreak has led her to an inner freedom she never knew existed. The final chapter of the album begins with “Never Knew,” a ballad about overcoming fear and feeling the unconditional love of Christ that pours from life when we let go and surrender. The transcendent finale to the album came to Lola in the form of a dream. The song was brought to life in a writing session with her friend and co-producer for the album, Justin Busch. “The Other Side” captures the essence of heaven on earth. Instead of believing in the myth of separation, this song invites listeners to see the interconnectedness of all life. To no longer be a victim of the past, but to co-create your own story of bliss with the Divine. "Heaven isn’t simply a place you go, It’s a winding canyon inside your soul."
