The Trouble Notes Fuse 1970's Latin Cumbia, Indie-Rock, and Turkish Funk to Explore Unique Sound.
Berlin, GERMANY (April 21, 2023) - Inspired by the popular Turkish Psychedelic Rock and Latin Cumbia tunes from the 1970’s, The Trouble Notes announce the release of their new single, "Turkish Delight." This single departs from the group's usual string-dominant overtone and leans into new sonic elements such as electric guitar. The Trouble Notes support a funk-rock aura in this track with groovy bass lines and Turkish funk-inspired violin. This rhythmic song is a playful reminder of the group’s worldly musical influences, making a point to bind various transcontinental rhythms and melodies.
"We spend a lot of time in the van while on tour, and that means we are frequently listening to music," says Violinist Bennet Cerven from The Trouble Notes. During their most recent tour, TTN was inspired by newfound genres such as 1970's Latin Cumbia, Asian Psychedelic, and Middle Eastern Funk. The Trouble Notes have expressed that Turkish Delight was created as an ode to these under-appreciated sounds that deserve to be celebrated. Emphasizing the experimental nature of their new single, Cerven additionally notes, "... it was a fun excuse for me to play some bass!"
