The Northern Virginia alt-pop band's most expansive record yet swings from raw, blink-182-charged rock to hushed folk, tracing the cost of people-pleasing and the strange weight of coming of age in an uncertain world.
This album has been the most expansive work that we have done. From the number of different recording engineers and producers to the scope of involvement by the band members in shaping the songs, this has been the most professional collaboration and the most fulfilling journey to produce a collection of songs.

"I initially tried to balance the album with an even mix of harder-edged, up-tempo songs and softer, mellower ones, but I realized that kind of symmetry doesn't reflect real emotional life. We aren't steady or consistent day to day. We move through highs and lows, sometimes staying in one longer than the other. Sequencing the album so it begins with the heavier tracks and ends with the quieter ones felt truer to the emotional rollercoaster behind it."
