Gritty and honest, this collection is about breaking cycles and finding the courage to leave what no longer serves you.
NASHVILLE, TN (November 6, 2025) – After releasing her single, “Secret Keeper” back in April, Nashville-based artist Rebekah Gilbert releases her EP, entitled the same - Secret Keeper. This new EP is a haunting, soul-baring collection of seven tracks that dig deep into the undercurrents of generational trauma, addiction, domestic violence, and the search for healing.
The sound of Secret Keeper feels like home - earthy, honest, and just a little haunting. Blending the rootsy warmth of Americana with the raw intimacy of late-night confessions, this EP is both personal and universally resonant.
Produced by acclaimed songwriter-producer Nicole Witt and recorded at Sun Drop Sound Studio in Florence, Alabama, Secret Keeper captures emotional truth with lyrical precision. At the heart of the project is Gilbert’s gift for vulnerability, her words steeped in grit and grace. The sound evokes echoes of Gillian Welch, Brandi Carlile, and Jason Isbell - where heartache, heritage, and hope collide.
Secret Keeper combines traditional instruments with melancholic tunes and personal songwriting, featuring talented artists like Jimbo Hart (on bass), Sol Philcox-Littlefield (playing guitars and banjo), Jon Davis and Justin Holder (drums), and Grayson Wright (on keys). From the aching vulnerability of “Sober” to the chilling family secrets of “Somebody Else’s House,” each track tells a cinematic, lived-in story that navigates the tightrope between silence and truth.
“This EP is a reflection of the places I've been, both physically and emotionally, and the lessons I've learned along the way. I wanted to capture what it feels like to face your ghosts and still believe in grace and the possibility of healing.”

Emma Gilbert - Secret Keeper Art
This EP is a raw, unflinching journey through family secrets, addiction, and personal reckoning. From the moonshine-soaked betrayal in “Somebody Else’s House” to the painful tug-of-war with toxic love in “Sober,” each song exposes what hides behind closed doors. “Secret Keeper” and “Ghosts” confront generational trauma and the burden of silence, while “Coosa River” tells a chilling story of escape from abuse. The closer, “Stay,” is a quiet but powerful anthem of liberation. Gritty and honest, this collection is about breaking cycles - and finding the courage to leave what no longer serves you.
