The New Orleans-based musician officially launched her new track exploring themes of conflict, closure, and healing.
New Orleans, LA (September 15, 2023) - Alternative artist, Sari Jordan, dropped her new 2023 track, “Ceasefire!” on Friday, September 15th. The lyrics behind this song explore themes of conflict, closure, and healing. Ethereal vocals and a distinct live-band sound take listeners on an expansive journey through times of darkness and tension, ultimately moving towards a comforting and cathartic release. The melodies and rhythms for “Ceasefire!” were inspired by sounds from Psychedelic Rock, Neo-Soul, and Broadway.
“Ceasefire!” represents various instances of conflict and resilience. Sari Jordan conveys a message of clarity, reminding listeners that the walls we create for self-protection can block us from seeing the full picture, resulting in miscommunication and confusion. This dreamy track is a song to blast when you're in the car driving away from a heated argument.
This song acts as a reminder that everyone has their own unique perspective and experience in life. This is one of those songs that teaches you something after you listen to it all the way through. I learned a lot about myself and gained clarity from writing and seeing this track through to completion.”
- Sari Jordan, Alt-Pop Artist

About Sari Jordan:
Known for a voice that oscillates from smoky-sweet soft to big-hearted belt and back again, New Jersey-born vocalist, songwriter, and musician Sari Jordan (they/she) spends their days and nights loving and learning down in New Orleans. Sari will be releasing their debut EP “Sing to the Moon” in late 2023, a collection of original compositions that reflect nascent ruminations with subtle confidence and ample whimsy.
The sensitive, silly-goose songstress first decamped to the Crescent City for college in 2018, and soon set off on a whirlwind romance with the great American songbook. The local culture coalesced with a lifelong love for theater, soul, and alternative indie/psych rock, each deeply rooted in the city Sari now calls home.
Characterized by raw honesty and playful boldness, Sari’s voice commandeers ears with a confident, stated presence. Debut EP “Sing To The Moon” (due Fall 2023) features a tasting menu of original music essentially ripped from diary entries over the past couple of years. The project is an amalgamation of Sari’s kaleidoscopic influences, embodying elements of Lianne La Havas, Phoebe Bridgers, Billie Holiday, Nai Palm of Hiatus Kaiyote, and Billie Eilish, in a succulent gumbo with Sari’s own gossamer, angelic style.
The sum of these parts delivers a tender, folky neo-soul that aims an arrow directly at the heart. Her songs make listeners want to give themselves a giant hug, and whisper sweetly things will be okay. “Sing To The Moon” croons lullabies to a younger you. Reminds one of walking and talking with yourself; of tending to and rebounding from heartbreak. Each song is affectionate and intentional, a cocktail of warmth, depth, and unfettered brightness. At 23, Sari Jordan is just getting started.
