The Hulu and MGM Actress will Release “Timing” Music Video on March 17th
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (March 17, 2023) - Bolivian-American actress and singer-songwriter Emilia Suárez just released her music video “Timing.” The indie-alternative single is a vulnerable, dreamy and evocative piano ballad with symphonic and atmospheric sounds.
This music video lives between a liminal space and memories; it is a dramatized version of what writing this song was actually like for Suárez. The video captures Suárez truly in the moment and with an unabashed presence, something she hadn’t experienced until she was with this person. Suárez reflects that “I think in this video, we captured that, which makes it all the more painful to know that those two crazy kids just can't make it! And there’s no real reason or lesson to cling to for why. Some people are just there to teach you that you deserve so much better, and for me, that was really hard to let go of”.
Writing the song was an atypical experience for Suárez, as she didn’t intend to write about this relationship, but it’s the only place her mind wanted to live. “This song is touching a lot on the nature of the relationship and grappling with the inability to move on. It was also designed to call myself out a bit. If I’m actively choosing to relive it, I’m the reason it stays with me. The ‘inability’ is more voluntary than the poets would like to admit,” Suárez expresses.
