The Twisted Love Story Single to Release on Valentine's Day
COLUMBIA, SC (February 14, 2023) - Electro-pop R&B artist Gemïny is releasing his single "Rock (Right Now)" on Valentine's day, February 14th. A precursor to his upcoming EP My Dark Twisted Valentine, which is slated for release in early September.
Gemïny describes My Dark Twisted Valentine as a TV series type collection, showing his life as a toxic tele-novella. The EP is centered around a series of recurring dreams that have weaved themselves into Gemïny's reality, with "Rock (Right Now)" being the most symbolic.
The single is set in a flooding jail as Gemïny's dream self is stoned by onlookers, being shunned as an imposter and painting him with hue's of red as an exile. His only source of solace is a young dancer elegantly circling in the violent waters; distracting him from his torture.
About Gemïny:
Hailing from Raleigh, NC, recording artist Gemïny is a unique mix of raspy rock, smooth jazz and pop-soul that creates a sound distinctly his own. Before taking a brief hiatus from music, Gemïny studied music composition under John Fitz at the University of South Carolina. Gemïny returned to the music scene in 2020 where he began participating in freelance work recording hooks and background vocals for aspiring artists in hopes of raising money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Overtime, this grew into gig work in the local Columbia music scene where Gemïny performed as a background vocalist and pianist for a multitude of bands. With recordings reminiscent of a live show, every song feels like a page ripped from a classic love story; a redefined iteration of the Heartbreak Hotel. 15% of Gemïny's streaming revenue is used to support the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
